Removing the cylinder head
Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
Drain the fluid from the cooling system by disconnecting the supply hose from the radiator and opening the cap of the expansion tank.
On the JS model engine
Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pressure regulator, being careful as residual pressure in the line may cause fuel to squirt out.
Remove the injection nozzle mounting flange and remove the injection nozzles.
Disconnect the fuel supply pipes to the injectors and the fuel line of the control pressure regulator from the dispenser-distributor.
Remove the fuel injection injector tube bundle.
Remove the air line connecting the air flow meter to the throttle body.
On WN engine
Remove air filter.
Disconnect the fuel lines and close their openings with plugs.
Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the carburetor.
Disconnect the connectors of the electrical components installed on the cylinder head and the connector of the intake manifold heater.
On WN and JS models
Disconnect the crankcase exhaust ventilation hose.
Disconnect the high-voltage wires from the spark plugs, remove the cover and the rotor of the ignition distributor.
Disconnect the throttle cable and attach it to the left side of the engine compartment.
Depending on the equipment, loosen the bolts securing the power steering pump and remove the drive belt.
Disconnect the outlet hose from the radiator. Disconnect the interior heating hoses.
Depending on the configuration, unscrew the mounting bolts of the power steering pump, remove the pump and fix it on the left side of the engine compartment.
Remove intake pipe.
Detach the muffler exhaust pipe mounting flange from the exhaust manifold.
Remove exhaust manifold.
Turn the crankshaft to the TDC position of the piston of the 1st cylinder.
Remove the front camshaft belt guards.
Loosen the tension of the camshaft drive belt and remove the belt from the camshaft pulley.
Lock the camshaft pulley with a lock, unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the pulley.
Remove the rear camshaft drive belt cover.
Remove cylinder head cover.
Loosen the cylinder head bolts.
Remove cylinder head.
