Before setting the ignition timing, it is necessary to check whether the flexible pipe must be pulled off the reduced pressure regulator or not. The engine number and designation are stamped in letters on the side of the hull.
To properly adjust the ignition, you must have a diagnostic scope with a speed meter and a strobe lamp.
1. Connect the diagnosticoscope according to the maintenance instructions.
2. Start the engine and check if the idle speed corresponds to the one given in the table for this type of engine. If the engine speed is different, it must be adjusted.
3. Turn the rotary knob on the stroboscope lamp in order to set the ignition timing in the area of the diagnoscop meter, corresponding to that indicated in the table.
4. Remove the plug from the clutch housing and illuminate the hole with a strobe lamp. If the TDC setting marks are not opposite each other (see photo 1.83) it is necessary to loosen the bolt securing the ignition distributor housing and turn the distributor to such an angle that the signs on the flywheel and clutch housing coincide. In this position, press the bot that secures the housing of the ignition distributor.
5. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the diagnosticoscope.
