Checking the TSZ-H control system (VW Golf 2)

1. Remove the plug from the TSZ-H control system, to do this press on the wire fuse and remove it from the plug.

2. Connect the voltmeter between contacts No.4 and No.2 of the plug.

3. Turn on the ignition. The measured voltage should more or less correspond to the battery voltage (12 V). Otherwise, it is necessary to find a break in the current circuit and eliminate it.

4. Turn off the ignition.

5. Reconnect the plug to the TSZ-H control system socket.

6. Remove the plug from the halotron socket in the ignition distributor.

7. Connect a voltmeter between terminals No.1 (-) and No.15 (+) of the ignition coil.

8. Turn on the ignition. The voltage reading should be at least 2 V, but should drop to 0 V after 1-2 seconds. Otherwise, the TSZ-H control system must be replaced.

9. The central wire of the plug-in connection of the ignition distributor must be short-circuited to ground for a short time. The voltage reading must increase to at least 2 V for a short time. Otherwise, it is necessary to find the break in the central wire and eliminate it, if necessary, replace the ignition distributor.

10. Turn off the ignition.

11. Connect the voltmeter to the external contacts of the Halotron plug (ignition distributor)

12. Turn on the ignition. The reading should be at least 5 V.
