1. Accurate wheel alignment is essential for good vehicle handling and long tire life. Details regarding wheel alignment are provided in the technical data. Wheel alignment can be checked accurately in suitably equipped workshops.

2. Check if the vehicle has only its own weight as a load with a full fuel tank and normal tire pressure.

3. Place the vehicle on a horizontal surface with the front wheels set to drive straight, then roll the vehicle back 1 m and then forward.

Adjusting the toe-in

4. Using a wheel alignment tester, check the toe-in, then compare with the specifications. If adjustment is necessary, loosen the outer ball joint lock nut on the right side of the vehicle and turn the rod in or out. Then tighten the lock nut

Angle of advance of the return mechanism pin

5. The advance of the return mechanism kingpin is constant, which follows from the suspension design. After emergency repairs, it is necessary to check the value of this angle. However, this work requires special equipment, so it should be done at a service station.

Wheel tilt angle

6. The angle of the wheel is adjusted by moving the column relative to the return mechanism arm. The adjustment can be made by replacing the bolts connecting the column to the return mechanism with others of a smaller diameter, which are available as spare parts. These bolts must be tightened to a torque of 80 Nm.

Caution: The wheel tilt cannot be adjusted by moving the ball joint of the lower swing arm. This may cause damage to the drive joints.
