The brake disc must not be less than the thickness specified in the technical data. The disk must be cleaned before measurement. Thickness is measured with a gauge or micrometer. The second important parameter is the so-called disc beat. The maximum runout is indicated in the technical data. The runout of the rubbing surfaces of the disk is measured using a clock sensor. If any parameter does not correspond to the permissible value, the disk must be replaced. If the disc is of sufficient thickness and is only scratched or has more runout than is acceptable, it can be sanded at the factory.
To remove a disk:
1. Perform the actions described in paragraphs 9.1-9.6.
2. Remove the screw and remove the disc from the hub (photo 8.22).
3. If necessary, remove the brake disc cover after removing the three bolts from the return mechanism.
4. Mount the brake disc in the reverse order to the description included in points 8 and 9. Pay attention that the mating surfaces of the disc and hub are clean.
