Checking the brake fluid level
The brake fluid level is visible through the translucent reservoir wall. In addition, when the fluid level drops, the float sensor in the reservoir cap is activated, and a warning light on the instrument panel lights up - this happens before the brake fluid level reaches the mark "MIN" (pic. A:14). When the brake fluid level drops, immediately add fluid to the mark "MAX". If the brake fluid level drops quickly, or you have to add fluid frequently, then this means that there is a fluid leak in the system, the cause of which must be IMMEDIATELY found and repaired.
Before adding liquid, clean the surface around the plug, and only then unscrew it. To fill the brake system, use only fluid of the type specified in section "Technical data". Before installing the reservoir cap, clean its vent hole. Spilled brake fluid should be wiped up immediately and washed off with water, as it dissolves paint well. Throw away rags contaminated with brake fluid immediately.
It is recommended to change the brake fluid every three years, as it absorbs atmospheric moisture over time, which lowers the boiling point of the brake fluid, and under heavy braking, a sharp decrease in the effectiveness of the brake system is possible. In addition, the increased moisture content of the liquid contributes to the accelerated destruction of parts of the brake system due to corrosion.
To change the brake fluid, it is necessary to bleed the brake system until fresh fluid flows out of all bleeders (see chapter "Brake system").
