Locks and hinges
Lubricate all hinges and locks on your vehicle regularly to prevent premature wear and possible jamming. For lubrication, use an oil can with engine oil. Remove excess grease. Lubricate the hood lock and door stops with a small amount of universal grease.
Lubricate the cylinder mechanisms of door and trunk locks by applying a little engine oil or graphite grease to the key. Do not attempt to lubricate the ignition/steering column lock.
