Remove the crankshaft gear. Secure the gear with a counterholder (pic. 2.138).
Unscrew the right drive shaft from the gearbox.
Unscrew the fixing bolts on the engine block of the fluid supply pipe to the auxiliary heater.
Remove the oil pan.
Unscrew the front sealing flange.
Remove the sealing flange, if necessary, dismantle it by lightly tapping with a rubber mallet.
Remove any remaining sealant on the cylinder block with a flat scraper.
Remove any remaining sealant on the sealing flange using a drill and a plastic bristle tool.
Clean the seating surfaces. They must be free of oil and grease.
Installation
Cut off the tip of the tube at the front mark (hole diameter about 3mm).
Note: Observe the expiration date of the sealant.
Note: The sealing flange must be installed within 5 minutes of applying the silicone sealant.
Note: The sealant bead must not be thicker than 2-3 mm, otherwise excess sealant will enter the oil pan. Sealant may get on the sealing surface of the crankshaft oil seal or clog the oil line strainer of the oil pump.
Note: Before applying sealant, cover the O-ring seating surface with a clean rag.
Pic. 2.262. Scheme of applying sealant to the seating surface of the sealing flange
Apply silicone sealant to the clean seating surface of the sealing flange as shown in Figure 2.262.
Install the sealing flange immediately and lightly tighten all mounting bolts.
Note: Use a guide bush to mount the sealing flange with the sealing ring installed.
Screw in the new sealing flange mounting bolts, alternating crosswise with a torque of 15 Nm.
Install the crankshaft gear.
Tighten the central bolt with a torque of 120 Nm + tighten 1/4 turn. (90°) (additional tightening can be carried out in several stages).
Install the oil pan.
Install the toothed belt.
Install poly V-belt.
Note: After installation, allow the sealant to dry for approximately 30 minutes. Only then can you fill in engine oil.
