Cut off the tube tip along the front mark (hole diameter approx. 3 mm).
Apply a layer of sealant approximately 2-3 mm thick, as shown in Figure 2.50, to the clean sealing surface of the flange.

NOTE: Before applying the sealant, cover the oil seal with a clean rag. The sealant layer should not be thicker than 2-3 mm, otherwise excess sealant may get into the oil pan and clog the mesh filter in the oil intake pipe.
NOTE: Observe the expiration date of the sealant.
NOTE: The sealing flange must be installed within 5 minutes after applying the silicone sealant.
Install guide sleeve 1 T10215/1 at the front onto crankshaft journal 3.
Then carefully install the sealing flange with gland 2 - through the guide sleeve (Fig. 2.51).

Bolt the flange to the cylinder block.
Install the oil pan.
NOTE: The vibration damper mounting bolt must be replaced.
Tighten the mounting bolt using the VAG 1601 torque wrench.
Install the torsional vibration damper and secure it with the T10069 counter support.
Tighten the new mounting bolt to 100 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°).
Install the poly V-belt.
