Pic. 2.229. Fuel Injector Components: 1 - radial compensator (replace); 2 - replace the sealing ring of the combustion chamber (teflon gland), when installing, do not treat the ring with any lubricants; 3 - groove on the nozzle; 4 - support washer (replace); 5 – o-ring of circular cross- section (replace, when installing lightly moisten with clean engine oil); 6 - thrust ring
Dismantling
Remove the suction pipe.
Remove the fuel rail with the intake manifold flap.
Close the inlets with a clean cloth.
Pic. 2.230. Releasing the locking tabs
Using a screwdriver, bend the locking tabs of the radial compensator to the sides and remove the thrust ring from the nozzle (pic. 2.230).
Note: The locking tabs of the radial compensator will be damaged in this case (break down). Therefore, when installing the nozzle, the compensator must be replaced.
Pic. 2.231. Installing the mandrel and puller
Screw the mandrel to the puller. Then insert the puller into the groove on the nozzle and carefully knock out the nozzle (pic. 2.231).
Installation
Pic. 2.232. Cleaning the nozzle holes
Thoroughly clean the holes of the high pressure injectors in the cylinder head with a nylon brush (pic. 2.232).
Note: The Teflon nozzle seal must not be lubricated with engine oil or other lubricants.
Note: An open inlet valve may make cleaning difficult. In this case, the engine should be rotated with a wrench by hand by the crankshaft.
Replace the O-ring and the Teflon nozzle seal.
Pic. 2.233. Installing the thrust ring
Reinstall stop ring 1 on the injector and block compensator 2 on the stop ring (pic. 2.233).
Pic. 2.234. Installing the nozzle with a mandrel
Insert the injector with the help of the mounting mandrel until it stops into the hole in the cylinder head (pic. 2.234).
Pic. 2.235. Correct nozzle position
Check the correct position of the injector in the cylinder head (pic. 2.235).
Install the fuel rail with intake manifold flap.
Install the intake manifold.
