Using support dies and a press, remove the inner ring of the middle roller bearing.
Press out the outer bearing rings from the clutch housing and gearbox housing sockets using a press. Remove the adjusting ring installed under the outer ring of the rear bearing.
Note: The selection of the adjusting ring for adjusting the preload of the primary shaft bearings is carried out in the event of replacement of the gearbox housing or clutch housing, primary shaft, fourth gear pinion or primary shaft bearings.
Press the outer bearing rings into the clutch housing and gearbox housing sockets without the adjusting ring. Install the assembled primary shaft into the clutch housing and attach the gearbox housing. Tighten the gearbox housing to the clutch housing bolts and tighten them to a torque of 2.5 kgf·m.
Secure the stand with the indicator in the clutch housing and install the indicator leg on the end of the primary shaft (Fig. 4-23).

Rotate the primary shaft several times to adjust the bearings. Pull or press the primary shaft to the stop, in this position set the indicator arrow to zero, move the primary shaft to the stop in the opposite direction and note the value of the axial movement of the primary shaft on the indicator. Determine the thickness of the adjusting ring according to Table 4-4.
Loosen the mounting bolts and disconnect the gearbox housing from the clutch housing, press out the outer bearing ring from the gearbox housing seat. Install the adjusting ring of the required thickness and install the outer bearing rings, having previously lubricated them with oil. Turn the primary shaft several revolutions to adjust the bearings.
