Attention: Make sure that fuel does not get on the coolant hoses. If necessary, clean hoses immediately and replace damaged hoses.
Water removal
The figure shows the top view of the fuel filter.
1 - fuel supply from the fuel tank;
2 - fuel supply to high pressure fuel pump;
3 - return fuel line from high pressure fuel pump;
4 - return fuel line to the fuel tank (marked with an arrow).
Pull the clamp -A- to the side and pull the control valve -B- with the fuel lines connected to it upwards out of the filter.
Open the water drain valve -C- at the bottom of the filter and drain into a vessel placed at a depth of about 100 cm3 liquids.
Reinsert the control valve into the filter and fasten it with a clip.
Tighten the water drain valve to 10 Nm.
Check the power system for leaks. To do this, start the engine and leave it to idle. After repeatedly pressing the gas pedal, the fuel should flow to the high pressure fuel pump through a transparent fuel line without air bubbles.
Filter replacement
Clean the fuel lines 1 and 2 from the outside and disconnect from the filter, having previously bitten the clamping clamps with side cutters.
Remove clamp 5 and pull the control valve with the fuel lines connected to it upwards out of the filter.
Unscrew the fuel filter together with the bracket.
Move the bracket to the new filter.
Connect the fuel lines to the filter and secure them with clamps tightening the screw. At the same time, do not confuse the fuel supply and return fittings. The arrows on the filter show the direction of fuel flow.
Insert the control valve with a new sealing ring, insert the clamp 5 from the side.
Check the power system for leaks. To do this, start the engine and leave it to idle. After repeatedly pressing the gas pedal, the fuel should flow to the high pressure fuel pump through a transparent fuel line without air bubbles.
