If the tank becomes empty during the trip, there is no need to remove air from the system, as this happens automatically when the engine is started by the starter.
Note: If you have difficulty starting, in order to check whether fuel is supplied to the injectors, loosen the union nuts on both injectors and start the engine without turning on the glow plugs until fuel flows through the union nuts. Tighten the union nuts and start the engine in accordance with the instructions.
Note: If air is not automatically removed from the fuel system, proceed as follows:
- Fill the high-pressure fuel pump with diesel fuel.
- Fill the fuel filter with diesel fuel.
- Turn on the ignition and tow the vehicle.
These measures ensure that air is quickly removed from the fuel system.
When working on the injection system, follow the instructions for maintaining cleanliness, see chapter "Power supply system".
Also, make sure that diesel fuel does not come into contact with the coolant hoses. In this case, the hoses should be cleaned immediately. Damaged hoses should be replaced.
