Removal and installation of fuel supply module, fuel level sensor and ejector pumps (petrol engine) (VW Touareg 1)

Fuses 13 and 14 must be removed from their sockets.

The plugs and wires of the right and left sensor flanges must be disconnected.

The locking rings of the right and left sensor flanges are unscrewed.

Work execution procedure



Disconnect plugs 1 and 2 and hose connections 3 and 4 under the right flange (fig. 2.315).

Remove the sensor flange with the pressure regulator.

Unclip and remove the black hose (fig. 2.316) on the right and left side of the fuel tank from the fuel supply module housing.

On the right and left sides of the fuel tank, disconnect the fuel feed line from the fuel delivery module (fig. 2.317) to ejector pumps.

Unscrew the fuel delivery module from the bottom of the fuel tank by turning it to the left approximately 90°.



NOTE: The fuel delivery module housing is filled with fuel. Fuel may spill out if tilted or turned over.


NOTE: Unclip the fuel level sensors on both sides of the fuel tank and remove them.


NOTE: The ejector pumps on both sides of the tank can now be unlocked and removed by twisting slightly.


Pull both ends of the hoses through the left and right openings of the sensor.
