Disconnect the high pressure hose from the steering spool body and connect the pressure gauge hoses to the spool body and high pressure hose.
Start the engine and leave it to idle. Check the oil level in the power steering pump reservoir and top up if necessary.
When the engine is idling, close the valve of the pressure gauge and measure the discharge pressure of the pump, which should be within 68-82 kg / cm2.
If the pressure is not within the specified limits, check the pressure relief valve for wear and cleanliness and repeat the test. If the valve is OK and the pump discharge pressure still does not reach the maximum value, replace the pump.
