Causes
RPM too high with cold engine and hence viscous oil.
Water in engine oil as a result of a defective cylinder head gasket.
Insufficient lubrication due to too low oil level.
Lubricating film with breaks at high oil temperatures, possibly due to improperly selected oil.
Attention: The rattling noise that is encountered depending on the speed and is loud may not indicate engine damage. This may be due to harmless injector needles: spring-compressed injector needles, which usually rise under fuel pressure and thus open the nozzle opening, remain «suspended».
In this case, the engine no longer receives the fuel properly injected and therefore draws attention to itself with a noticeable noise.
This rather harmless defect can occur when, during unclean work on the injection system, dirt enters the fuel lines and a piece of dirt pinches the nozzle needle. He who takes this into account can help himself if, with the
clutch briefly and strongly press the gas. The flow of fuel will wash the needle and she. maybe free again. If the foreign body does not come out in this way, then you need to clean the nozzles. The point is that you loosen the nuts of the injectors one after the other and tighten them again there. where, when weakened, the noise will decrease, and sits «troublemaker».
