Remove the rubber boot from the lower universal joint.
Loosen the clamp bolt nut and knock out the bolt.
Remove the intermediate shaft from the lower cardan joint (figure 387). Remove the rubber boot from the upper universal joint.

Loosen and knock out the clamp bolt. Remove the intermediate shaft from the upper cardan joint. Install the shaft in the reverse order. Install the bolts and tighten to 30 Nm.
