During the replacement of the left steering rod, the length of the new rod should be set in the same way as the length of the old rod that cannot be adjusted. To do this, measure the distance between the middle of the rod end pin (installed vertically) and the end face of the inner hinge at the other end of the rod. This distance should be 379.0 mm (Manual Transmission) or 381.0 mm (Automatic transmission). It can be installed by rotating the ends of the outer tie rod joint after loosening the lock nut of the end.
The rod is replaced in the same way as with the steering gear removed. The convergence of wheels is established only at the right draft. When replacing the right tie rod (which can be adjusted) you need to set the steering rack to the middle position and measure the distance between the end of the inner ball joint and the gear rack housing. Remove the old tie rod. Adjust the length of the new rod, screw the new rod into the rail, maintaining the previously measured size of the removed rod. The tightening torque of the locknut is 50 Nm. Check wheel alignment and adjust if necessary.
