Adjusting the play in the steering mechanism (with power steering) (VW Golf 2)

To eliminate the play in the steering mechanism, a special key 524 is required. The adjustment is performed on the dismantled mechanism.

Secure the mechanism in a vice.



Loosen the large lock nut 16 (see figure 392) and screw in the adjusting bolt 15 using a special key (figure 395) until the gear can still be turned by hand.
