When changing the fluid or installing the steering gear, the system must be filled with ATF Dextron and bled from it. Fluid drained from the system cannot be used again. The filter should also be replaced.
Fill the reservoir with liquid up to the top.
Start the engine several times for a short period and turn it off. Thus, the entire system will be filled with liquid.
In this case, the tank is quickly emptied, and liquid must be constantly added, otherwise air plugs form in the system.
If the liquid level does not drop, the system can be considered full.
To remove air from the hydraulic drive system, start the engine and vigorously turn the steering wheel from lock to lock.
Check the fluid level in the reservoir and if it drops, add fluid immediately. When turning the steering wheel, no air bubbles should appear on the surface.
