1. It is best to drain the coolant when the engine is cold. If this is not possible, cover the expansion tank cap with a rag and slowly turn the cap counterclockwise until the pressure decreases.
2. After the pressure has been completely equalized, remove the plug
3. Set the bleed valve to maximum, then place a suitable container below the left side of the radiator in 1.1 and 1.3L engines, and below the right side of the radiator in 1.6 and 1.8L engines.
4. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the lower rubber hose from the radiator return fitting 15 (figure 2.2). Drain the coolant into a suitable container.
