The coolant level in the expansion tank should be between the two marks "Max" and "Min" (Fig. 12).
The expansion tank is made of white plastic and is closed with a blue cap.
Check the level and open the expansion tank cap to add fluid only on a cold engine. If the engine is hot, let it cool down before unscrewing the expansion tank cap to avoid splashing hot fluid, since the expansion tank is under pressure when the engine is running and warmed up. If there is no special cooling liquid, it is permissible to use clean "soft" (for example, rain) water, but its use increases the freezing point, increases corrosion and scale formation. The presence of water in the expansion tank at negative temperatures is not allowed. In addition, the use of sea water, hard water, and alkali for softening water is unacceptable.
