Checking the oil level in the transfer case (VW Tiguan 1)

The transfer case must be in the installation position. Remove the noise-insulating casing. Place a tray under the transfer case.

Instructions: Cover the area under the threaded plug of the filler hole "arrow" with a rag.

Unscrew the filler plug "arrow". The filler plug "arrow" must be replaced. The oil level is sufficient if the transfer case is filled to the lower edge of the filler hole. If oil has nevertheless gotten onto the outer surface of the transfer case housing, carefully remove it. If necessary, add oil. Screw in a new plug "arrow". Tighten it to the proper torque.
