Checking the engine oil level (VW Passat B4)

Check the engine oil level every 500 km and before each long trip. Check on a cold engine or a few minutes after stopping the engine, placing the car on a horizontal platform.

Remove the dipstick and wipe it dry (Fig. 32).

Insert the dipstick all the way, pull it out and check the oil level. If necessary, add oil so that its level does not exceed the "MAX" mark.
