1. Wash all parts in extractive gasoline.
2. Connect one clamp of the ohmmeter to the rotor shaft, and the second to the corresponding sections of the commutator. A resistance of "0" indicates a short circuit to ground.
3. A scratched or burnt commutator must be re-sharpened and sanded with sandpaper.
4. Move the insulation between the switch sections to a depth of 1 mm
5. The minimum length of the brushes is 13 mm.
