Central door locking (VW Golf 2)

The central door locking system consists of a pump driven by an electric motor and pipelines supplying air to individual actuators of the door locking system. The locking pump is a double-acting pump. When the lock is closed, a vacuum is created in the pneumatic equipment of the locking system, while when it is opened, increased pressure is created in it. The central locking system is shown in Figure 11.4. As a result of the car being parked for a long time, the door locking system functions normally only after it has been set in motion several times.
