Removal



The work is only carried out for replacement or subsequent repair of the brake caliper. Remove the wheels. Use a screwdriver to pry the support spring out of the brake caliper. Disconnect the electrical connector of the pad wear sensor cable. Connect the hose of the air bleeder tank to the bleed nipple of the caliper and loosen the bleed nipple. Install the spacer -VAG 1869/2-. Tighten the nipple and disconnect the hose of the air bleeder tank. Unscrew the brake hose. Remove both caps from the caliper guide bushings. Unscrew and remove both guides from the brake caliper. Remove the caliper from the brake caliper. Remove the pads from the brake caliper.

Installation



The piston is recessed into the cylinder. The outer shoe is installed in the brake caliper. Insert the inner brake shoe with the retaining spring into the brake caliper (piston). When installing, glue the shoe only when it is in the correct position in the caliper. Avoid damaging the adhesive layer. Screw the brake caliper to the caliper using two guides. Install both protective caps. Screw the brake hose to the caliper. Remove the spacer -VAG 1869/2-. Install the retaining spring in the brake caliper. Connect the connectors of the brake shoe wear sensor cable. Bleed the brake system. Install the wheels.

Instructions: Press the brake pedal hard several times. This is necessary so that the brake pads take their working position. Check the brake fluid level.
