Pic. 150. Checking the toothed belt tension
- use a wrench to turn the hex of the tension roller in the direction shown in fig. 150, thereby tightening the toothed belt;
- check the toothed belt tension: it is considered normal if in the middle part of the branch between the camshaft and crankshaft pulleys the belt is twisted by 90° (pic. 150);
- tighten the tension roller axle nut to 45 Nm;
- turn the crankshaft two full turns and check that the belt tension has not changed;
- install the upper and lower parts of the toothed belt guard and belt pulleys;
- adjust the tension of the V-ribbed belt (see subsection 3.8);
Pic. 151. Engine mount mount (on the front of the engine): 1 - bolt, 55 Nm; 2 - bolt, 20 Nm; 3 - engine mount clamp
- turn by hand and finally tighten bolts 1 and 2 (pic. 151) fixing the engine mount with the following points:
- bolt 1 55 Nm;
- bolt 2 20 Nm;
- avoid excessive tension of the toothed belt, as this significantly reduces its service life;
- install the gear (if it was filmed), tighten the fastening bolt (lubricate it before), tighten to 90 Nm, then turn the bolt another 90°. In this case, the engine must be fixed in a stationary state.
Note. When installing the crankshaft gear, the bolt of its fastening must be replaced with a new one.
