To remove the flywheel from the crankshaft, block it with a retainer in a stationary state and unscrew the flywheel mounting bolts, which can be immediately discarded, since their reuse is prohibited.
Check the condition of the ring gear and if the teeth are damaged, replace the flywheel with the ring. At the same time, the teeth of the starter gear should also be checked, as they can also be worn out.
If the flywheel has scratches or burrs on the bearing surface of the clutch disc, remove them with a groove. The flywheel is dismantled on the installed engine after removing the gearbox. At the same time, be sure to check if engine oil is leaking through the crankshaft rear oil seal. In case of leakage, replace the seal.
When installing the flywheel, first tighten the fastening bolts by hand, and then tighten them in turn crosswise with a tightening torque of 60 Nm, then evenly tighten each bolt another 90°crosswise.
