Removal



Disconnect the battery ground cable terminal with the ignition off.

Remove and install the cuff with the switch button and noise insulation.

Remove the center console and center console mounting bracket.

If present, the interior control sensor must be removed from the rear mounting nuts.

Unscrew the nuts of the gearshift housing (Fig. 3.47).

Remove the air cleaner housing assembly if it is located above the shift linkage.

Remove lock washer 3 for the shift cable from gear shift lever 1 (Fig. 3.48).

Remove lock washer 4 for selector cable from intermediate lever 2.

Pull the selector cable and shift cable off the pivots.

Remove the cable support from the gearbox, respectively, first remove hose A from the clamp on bracket B (Fig. 3.24).

Remove the sound insulation.

Remove the tunnel crossbars.

Separate the exhaust system and remove it from the subframe.

Disconnect the exhaust system from the rear and remove the heat shield.

Tilt the switch housing downwards and remove it with the selector cables.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order, while taking into account the following.


Apply a small amount of grease to the journals of gearshift lever 1 and intermediate lever 2 (Fig. 3.48).

Replace lock washers 3 and 4 after each disassembly.

Install lock washer 3 as protection for the shift cable and lock washer 4 for the selector cable.

Align the switch housing parallel to the vehicle body.

The distance to the body must be the same on both sides.

If equipped, install the interior monitoring sensor to the rear mounting nuts.

Install the center console mounting bracket and the center console.

Remove and install the cuff with the switch button and noise insulation.

Install a heat shield.

Assemble the exhaust system without internal stress and mount the tunnel cross members.

Adjust the gear shift drive.

Install the air cleaner housing assembly if it was removed.

Please note the work required after connecting the battery.

Tightening torques



The body of the gearshift lever to the body:
  • m6 nuts - 8 Nm;
  • m8 nuts - 25 Nm.

Gearbox cable support - 20 Nm
