Verification conditions
The coolant temperature must be at least 85°C.
The injector must be in good working order.
The fuel filter and fuel lines must not be clogged.
Work order
Remove the engine cover.
Unscrew the plug.

Connect the pressure gauge for the tandem pump as shown in Figure 2.336.
Start the engine and leave it to idle.
Connect the tester and choose the working mode «Fahrzeug-Eigendiagnose/ self-diagnosis mode».
Press the button on the touch screen «01 – Motorelektronik/ 01 – engine electronics».
Press diagnostic function «08 – Messwerteblock lesen/ 08 – Read measured value blocks».
Use the numbers on the keyboard to set the device group «1» and confirm your entry with the Q key.
Read the engine speed in the display field «1».
Raise the engine speed to 4000 min–1.
Observe pressure gauge readings.
Nominal value not less than 7.5 bar.
If the specified value is not reached, clamp the fuel return pipe between the fuel filter and the tandem pump with a hose clamp.
Raise the engine speed to 4000 min–1.
Observe pressure gauge readings.
Rated value min. 10.5 bar
If the set value is not reached, then there is a loss of pressure on the unit injectors.
Replace the O-rings of the unit injectors.
If the specified value is not reached, replace the tandem pump.
Note: After disconnecting the measuring device, tighten the plug with a torque of 25 Nm. Replace O-ring.
