Note: This operation is performed in case of replacement of the clutch housing or gearbox housing, differential box or roller bearings.
Press the outer bearing rings into the housing sockets without the adjusting ring until they stop. Install the differential into the clutch housing. Attach the gearbox housing to the clutch housing. Tighten the five gearbox housing mounting bolts and tighten them to a torque of 2.5 kgf·m.
Attach the stand with the indicator to the crankcase and install the indicator leg on the differential box.
Move the differential up and down in the axial direction and do not allow it to rotate, so that the bearings do not self-align, and note the indicator readings. The required thickness of the adjusting ring is determined by the value of the axial movement of the differential according to the indicator plus a constant value of preload equal to 0.40 mm.
The adjusting rings have a thickness of 0.65 to 1.25 mm with an interval of 0.05 mm. Remove the differential and press out the outer bearing ring from the clutch housing seat. Install the adjusting ring of the required thickness in the clutch housing seat, press in the outer bearing ring, lubricate the differential bearings with transmission oil, install the differential, connect the gearbox housing to the clutch housing. Check the torque of resistance to rotation of the differential bearings, which should be 0.12-0.35 kgf·m for new bearings and 0.03 kgf·m for worn-in bearings.
