Checking the throttle position sensor (VW Passat B4)

Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector (Fig. 2-60).



When measuring the resistance between the terminals, it should be: terminals "1" and "5" - 520-1300 Ohm; terminals "1" and "2" - 600-3500 Ohm: terminals "1" and "4" - 600-6600 Ohm.

Note: When measuring the resistance between terminals "1" and "2", "1" and "4", the resistance value changes until the throttle valve opens to ¼ of its stroke, then remains constant.
