Note: Vehicles with a catalytic converter have an oxygen sensor with slots in the receiver head (sensor 1). The oxygen sensor of vehicles without a catalytic converter has a head with holes (sensor 2) (Fig. 2-64).

To check the supply voltage, disconnect the sensor connector and connect the LED tester to the terminals of the sensor block (Fig. 2-65).

Start the engine and increase the crankshaft speed to approximately 3700 rpm. The LED should light up.
If the LED does not light, check the integrity of the sensor circuit and the serviceability of the sensor relay.
