1. Check the reliability of the clamps.

2. Inspect with a flashlight for holes, rusted or worn parts.

3. Replace badly dented exhaust pipes.

4. Check the rubber bearings for porosity by twisting and stretching them; replace if necessary.

5. Petrol engines: check the lambda probe cable. If damaged, replace. The probe is screwed into the exhaust pipe before the catalytic converter.
