Removal
Remove the switch on the steering column.
Remove the lock washer, spring and contact ring from the steering column.
Remove the screw securing the steering wheel shaft lock housing.
Remove the steering wheel shaft lock housing from the pipe and steering column.
Installation
Place the steering wheel shaft lock housing onto the steering column.

Using a suitable pipe or special tool VW-420 "1", place the contact ring, spring and lock washer onto the steering column.
Note: If the steering column does not protrude completely from the tube, pull out the steering column by the screwed hex nut.
Install the switch on the steering column.
