Removal and installation the tachometer shaft cover (VW Passat B3)

The tachometer shaft is inserted from the back of the instrument panel. In the installed position, the tachometer shaft is fixed by a compression spring on the water drainage casing.

• A - Instrument panel with a funnel-shaped cover for the tachometer shaft
• B — tachometer shaft
• 1 - Seal on the partition cabin/water drainage casing
• 2 — compression spring housing
• 3 - Seal on bulkhead water drainage casing/engine compartment
• 4 - compression spring housing holder with sealable connector

Removal

Remove the instrument panel.



Turn the cover from the locking position "1" in the direction of the arrow until it is removed from the instrument panel in position "2".

Installation

Insert the lid, turn it and fix it.

Install the instrument panel.
