Only applies to VW - radio with coding
The coding of the anti-theft system prevents its unauthorized disconnection in the event of a power failure. A power failure occurs, for example, when the battery is disconnected, when the radio is removed, or when its fuse burns out.
If the radio is coded, make sure you have the radio code before disconnecting the battery. If you don't know the code, only a VW workshop can reconnect the radio.
The individual code number is provided in the radio operating manual. This code should not be stored in the vehicle.
Removal the electronic lock
Connect the power supply, turn on the radio. The radio displays the message "SAFE".
(The original text is available on the website: www.vwmanual.ru)
Press the "U" and "M" wave range buttons or, respectively, "TP" and "TA" simultaneously until the message "1000" appears on the radio, then release the buttons.
Using the buttons, enter the secret code number in positions 1 through 4.
In this case, button 1 sets the first position of the code number, button 2 sets the second position of the code number, and so on. For technical reasons, the first position of the code number can only be occupied by the number 1 or remain empty, while subsequent positions can be filled with numbers from 0 to 9.
After this, press the "U" and "M" wave range buttons (or "TP" and "TA" respectively) simultaneously again until the "SAFE" message appears. Release the buttons. The receiver is now ready for operation again.
Note: If an incorrect code number is entered by mistake, the "SAFE" message will flash and then stop. The entire process of entering the code number can then be repeated once. If an incorrect code number is entered again, the radio will be blocked for approximately one hour and will not be able to be connected. After one hour - the receiver must remain switched on - an attempt can be made to remove the electronic blocking again by entering the correct code number. This cycle will be repeated for all subsequent attempts.
