  • Entering radio code for radio receivers
            0

Only applies to VW radios with a code. The anti-theft radio code prevents the radio from being switched on unintentionally if the power supply is interrupted. The power supply could be interrupted by disconnecting the battery, removing the radio or by a blown fuse. If the radio is coded, the radio code must be memorized before disconnecting the battery. If the code is unknown, the radio can only be put back into operation at a VW service center.

Entering the electronic lock

1. Apply voltage, turn on the radio. The radio display will show "SAFE".

2. Simultaneously press the "U" and "M" range buttons and press until the indication "1000" appears, release the buttons.

3. Using radio buttons 1–4, enter the radio code number. In this case, use button 1 to enter the first digit of the code number, button 2 to enter the second, etc. For technical reasons, the first digit can only be 1 or nothing, while each of the other three digits can be designated by numbers from 0 to 9.

4. Then press the "U" and "M" buttons simultaneously again until the radio display changes to "SAFE". Release the buttons. The device is now ready for operation again.

Attention! If you enter the wrong code number by mistake, the "SAFE" indication will first flash, then it will light up continuously. Now you can repeat the dialing operation, but only once. If you enter the wrong code number again, the radio will be blocked for about 1 hour and cannot be put into operation. After 1 hour (the device should have been left on) the electronic unlock can be entered again. This cycle is repeated for all subsequent incorrect attempts.
