Remove the brake drum. If necessary, remove the brake drum from the axle journal using a universal puller.

Remove the sealing ring and the inner wheel hub bearing if it was not removed together with the brake drum.

Installation

Clean the brake drum thoroughly. Check for wear, damage, maintenance of specified dimensions, damage to the threads under the wheel bolts, and impeccable condition of the brake surfaces. Fill the hub with universal grease.

Lubricate the inner bearing of the wheel hub with bearing grease and insert it into the brake drum. Lightly lubricate the edges of the sealing ring and drive it in with cross blows of a rubber hammer.

Put on the brake drum.

Lubricate the outer wheel hub bearing and place it on the axle journal.

Install the pressure washer and tighten the hex nut.

Adjust the axial clearance of the wheel hub bearing, see chapter "Rear axle".

Insert the crown lock washer so that the cotter pin can be installed. Use a new cotter pin, bend the ends of the cotter pin.

Drive the protective cap into place, see chapter "Rear axle".

Screw on the rear wheel, lower the car and tighten the wheel bolts in a cross pattern to a torque of 110 Nm.

Press the brake pedal several times to bring the brake pads into working position.
