Attention! The new pulley mounting bolts have a drilled head and therefore their tightening torque is 150 Nm + 180° turn (1/2 turn). When tightening the bolt, do not allow the belt pulley to rotate together with the crankshaft. After tightening, check the TDC of the piston of cylinder No.1 and the exhaust camshaft.

Attention! The thickness of the sealant layer should not be greater, because excess sealant can get into the oil pan and clog the oil intake screen and oil intake. The sealant strip should be laid, bypassing the holes for the bolts from the inside (see arrows in illustration B).

After applying the sealant, the pan should be installed and secured within five minutes. After the installation of the pan is complete, the sealant needs about 30 minutes to harden, so the oil should be added after this time.

Installing the oil pan is made easier by screwing two M6 threaded pins into the cylinder block to serve as guides.

Oil pump and oil pan. Vehicles with 1.4-/1.6-liter FSI petrol engine
- rod indicator of engine oil level. The oil level should not be higher than the MAX mark
- sealing gasket
- oil radiator
- oil radiator coolant pipe
- bolts. Tightening torque 8 Nm
- O-ring seal round section
- oil pump drive sprocket
- crankcase. To facilitate installation, screw two M6x80 threaded pins into the camshaft housing and into the cylinder block, and also secure the oil pan with two bolts
- sealing ring. If damaged, replace with a new one
- Oil filler cap. Replace the sealing gasket if damaged
- Oil filter cover. Tightening torque 25 Nm. There are inlet and bypass valves on the cover. The opening pressure of the bypass valve is 2.5 bar
- valve
/14 - bolt. Tightening torque 10 Nm
- bolt. Tightening torque 90 Nm + 90° turn (1/4 turn) 1). The bolt threads should be lubricated with oil before installation. The mating surfaces of the bolt and belt pulley should be degreased. When unscrewing and tightening the bolt, the belt pulley should be held from turning
- V-belt pulley on crankshaft
- oil seal
- support bushing. The mating surfaces of the bushing must be clean, without grease or oil
- pressure reducing valve with ventilation hose
- bolt. Tightening torque 10 Nm
- bolt. Tightening torque 20 Nm + 90° turn (1/4 turn)
- oil pump drive chain sprocket
- oil pump drive chain. Before removing the chain, mark its direction of rotation
- bolt. Tightening torque 25 Nm
- oil pump. Replaced as a set
- bolts. Tightening torque 10 Nm
- engine oil level and temperature sensor. Should be replaced if damaged
- oil pan. Remove any oil and grease residue from the sealing surfaces. Remove any remaining sealant with a plastic brush attachment. When installing, apply 2-3 mm of VW-D 176 404 A2 silicone sealant to the sealing surfaces (see illustration A)
- Threaded drain plug. Tightening torque 30 Nm. With non-removable sealing ring
- bolt Tightening torque 13 Nm. To unscrew and tighten the bolts securing the oil pan near the flywheel, a set of end inserts is required, eg. VW-T10058
- Bolt. Tightening torque 45 Nm. To be replaced after each dismantling. Only 1.6 liter FSI engine BAG/BLF/BLP
