Attention! The new pulley bolts have a drilled head and therefore their tightening torque is 150 Nm + 180°turn (1/2 turn). When tightening the bolt, turning the belt pulley together with the crankshaft is not allowed. After tightening, it is necessary to check the TDC of the piston of cylinder No. 1 and the exhaust camshaft.
Attention! The thickness of the sealant layer should not be thicker, because excess sealant can get into the oil pan and clog the oil intake screen and oil intake. The sealant strip should be laid, bypassing the bolt holes from the inside (see arrows in illustration B).
After applying the sealant, the pan should be installed and fixed after five minutes. The sealant needs approximately 30 minutes to cure after the sump is installed, so the oil should be refilled after this time.
Installation of the oil pan is facilitated by screwing two M6 threaded pins into the cylinder block, which serve as guides.
Oil pump and oil pan. Vehicles with 1.4-/1.6-litre FSI petrol engine
- rod indicator engine oil levels. The oil level must not be above the MAX mark
- sealing gasket
- oil cooler
- oil cooler coolant pipeline
- bolts. Tightening torque 8 Nm
- o-ring of circular cross-section
- oil pump drive sprocket
- crankcase. To facilitate installation, screw two threaded fingers M6x80 into the camshaft housing and into the cylinder block, and also secure the oil pan with two bolts
- sealing ring. Replace with a new one if damaged
- oil filler cap. Replace seal if damaged
- oil filter cover. Tightening torque 25 Nm The cover has inlet and bypass valves. The opening pressure of the bypass valve is 2.5 bar
- valve
/14 - bolt. Tightening torque 10 Nm
- bolt. Tightening torque 90 Nm + turn 90° (1/4 turn) 1). The thread of the bolt must be lubricated with oil before installation. The mating surfaces of the bolt and the belt pulley must be degreased. When unscrewing and tightening the bolt, the belt pulley must be kept from turning
- ribbed belt pulley on the crankshaft
- stuffing box
- support sleeve. The mating surfaces of the hub must be clean and free from grease or oil
- pressure reducing valve with ventilation hose
- bolt. Tightening torque 10 Nm
- bolt. Tightening torque 20 Nm + 90°turn (1/4 turn)
- oil pump drive chain sprocket
- oil pump drive circuit. Before removing the chain, mark the direction of its rotation
- bolt. Tightening torque 25 Nm
- oil pump. Replaced as a set
- bolts. Tightening torque 10 Nm
- engine oil level and temperature sensor. Replace if damaged
- oil pan. Keep sealing surfaces free of oil and grease residues. Remove the remaining sealant with a plastic brush nozzle. When installing on sealing surfaces, apply silicone sealant VW-D 176 404 A2 2-3 mm thick (see illustration A)
- threaded drain plug. Tightening torque 30 Nm. With non-removable sealing ring
- bolt Tightening torque 13 Nm. To unscrew and tighten the oil pan bolts near the flywheel, a set of end inserts is required, for example. VW-T10058
