Removal
Drain the coolant, see the relevant chapter.
Remove the poly V-belt.
Remove the coolant pump belt pulley mounting bolts.
Loosen the coolant pump mounting bolts and remove the pump from the cylinder block.
Caution: Do not separate the integrated coolant pump seal from the pump. If damaged or leaking, replace the pump assembly with the seal.
Installation
Insert the coolant pump into the cylinder block and tighten the mounting bolts to a torque of 25 Nm.
Tighten the coolant pump belt pulley mounting bolts to a torque of 20 Nm.
Install the poly V-belt.
Fill with coolant, see the relevant chapter.
1.4L petrol engine, except FSI engine
Removal
Caution: Before removing the coolant pump, cover the toothed belt with a cloth to prevent leaking coolant.
Drain the coolant, see the relevant chapter.
Remove the timing belt.

Unscrew bolt "5" and remove guide roller "6".
Unscrew bolts "1" and "4", remove the rear cover "2" of the toothed belt and take out the coolant pump "3".
Caution: Do not separate the integrated coolant pump seal from the pump. If damaged or leaking, replace the pump assembly with the seal.
Installation
Insert the coolant pump "3" into the cylinder block and tighten the rear toothed belt cover by hand with bolts "4". Then tighten the mounting bolts "4" to 20 Nm and tighten bolt "1" to 10 Nm.
Install guide roller "6" and bolt "5" and tighten to 50 Nm
Install the timing belt.
Fill with coolant, see the relevant chapter.
