15 - V-ribbed belt
With the help of a V-ribbed belt, all auxiliary units are driven. Depending on the equipment and engine, these units are: generator, coolant pump and air conditioning compressor. The tension of the V-ribbed belt is provided by the tension roller. As part of maintenance, the tension of the V-ribbed belt is not checked.
Attention: If a used V-ribbed belt is to be installed again, the direction of its movement must be marked before removal. To do this, with a marker or felt-tip pen, you need to put an arrow on the belt in the direction of its movement. When viewed from the V-ribbed belt side, the engine crankshaft rotates to the right, i.e. clockwise. Installing the belt in the opposite direction increases belt wear and may cause it to break.
Removing
Using an interchangeable socket, tilt the tensioning element in the direction of the arrow until the hole for installing the retainer appears. In this position, insert an Allen key or a suitable pin into the hole and thereby lock the tensioning element.
Remove poly V-belt.

Installation
Place the V-ribbed belt on the pulleys.
Attention: If a used belt is installed, it is necessary to ensure the same direction of its movement.
Using the interchangeable socket, tilt the tensioning element in the direction of the arrow (see picture N13-0731), until the latch is released. Remove the retainer and slowly turn the tensioning element clockwise until the V-ribbed belt is tensioned.
