The poly V-belt drives all auxiliary units. Depending on the equipment and engine, these units are: generator, coolant pump and air conditioning compressor. The tension of the poly V-belt is provided by a tension roller. The tension of the poly V-belt is not checked as part of the maintenance.

Note: If a used poly V-belt is to be installed again, the direction of its movement must be marked before removal. To do this, use a marker or felt-tip pen to draw an arrow on the belt in the direction of its movement. When viewed from the poly V-belt side, the engine crankshaft rotates to the right, i.e. clockwise. Installing the belt in the opposite direction increases the intensity of its wear and may lead to its breakage.

Removal

Removal

Using the socket head, tilt the tensioning element in the direction of the arrow until the hole for installing the locking device is visible. In this position, insert an Allen key or a suitable pin into the hole and thus lock the tensioning element.

Remove the poly V-belt.

Installation

Place the poly V-belt on the pulleys.

Caution: If a used belt is being installed, it is necessary to ensure that its original direction of movement is maintained.

Using the socket head, tilt the tensioning element in the direction of the arrow (see figure N13-0731), until the lock is released. Remove the lock and slowly turn the tensioner clockwise until the poly V-belt is tensioned.
