Removal
Remove the lower engine compartment cover.
Remove the inlet manifold/charge air cooler connecting pipe and the mass air flow meter.

Loosen the tension of the poly V-belt. To do this, place an open-end wrench on the upper projection of the tension element and tilt the tension element in the direction of the arrow.

Turn the tensioning element until the VW-T10060 pin or the shank of a 5 mm drill bit or, respectively, a 4 mm Allen key can be inserted. This locks the tensioning element.
Remove the poly V-belt.
Installation
Attention: If auxiliary units were removed while the poly V-belt was removed, it is necessary to check the strength of their fastening before applying the belt.
Note: If a used belt is being installed, it is necessary to ensure that its original direction of movement is maintained.
Place the poly V-belt on the pulleys, starting with the crankshaft pulley and ending with the generator pulley or the air conditioning compressor pulley, respectively.
Turn the tension element slightly clockwise, remove the lock and tilt the tension element back.
Check that the poly V-belt fits tightly on all pulleys.
