Installing the cylinder head cover

Before installing the cylinder head cover on both edges of the camshaft bearing cover/cylinder head sealing surfaces, apply a drop of sealant at the front and rear, for example, VW / SEAT-AMV174 004 01 (diameter approximately 5 mm).



When removing the cylinder head cover bolts, loosen them in sequence from 13 to 1.

When installing, tighten the mounting bolts in sequence from 1 to 13 by hand, and then tighten in the same sequence to a torque of 10 Nm.

Tightening the cylinder head bolts

When removing the cylinder head mounting bolts, loosen them in sequence from 10 to 1.



When installing, tighten the mounting bolts in sequence from 1 to 10 in 4 steps:

• Reception 1: 40 Nm.
• Reception 2: 60 Nm.
• Step 3: With the key locked, turn it 90° (¼ turn) in the tightening direction.
• Step 4: With the key locked, turn it 90° (¼ turn) in the tightening direction.
