Removing
Remove poly V-belt cover.
Not with FSI engine: Use a 16 mm wrench to turn the tensioning roller clockwise -arrows- on the fastening bolt.
FSI engine: Use a 16 mm wrench to turn the tensioning roller anti-clockwise -arrow- on the fastening bolt and secure with a 4 mm hexagon socket wrench -1-.
Remove poly V-belt.
Replace damaged V-ribbed belt immediately.

Installation
Attention: If a used belt is installed, it is necessary to ensure the same direction of its movement.
Place the V-ribbed belt over the pulleys, starting at the crankshaft pulley.
Except FSI engine: use a 16 mm wrench on the mounting bolt to deflect the tensioner roller clockwise and put the belt on the idler roller, see drawing V13-1286 on page. 170.
FSI engine: using a 16 mm wrench on the fastening bolt, deflect the tension roller counterclockwise, remove the lock and slowly tilt the tension roller back, see drawing N13-0835.
Check that the V-ribbed belt is tight on all pulleys.
Install poly V-belt cover.
