Caliper FN-3/FS-III
Removing
1. Remove the brake pads.
2. Remove the caliper from the shoe guide.
3. Unscrew the hollow bolt 1 of the brake hose on the caliper and immediately screw it into the new caliper, installing new O-rings on the bolt (see illustration).
Attention! When the brake circuit is opened, brake fluid flows out. Substitute an appropriate container to collect the liquid. You can also preselect the brake fluid from the expansion tank.
Attention! If the caliper is removed only to replace the brake pads or brake disc, then the brake hose should not be disconnected from the caliper. In this case, the caliper together with the connected hose must be fixed to the body, while avoiding stretching or twisting of the brake hose.
4. Caliper FN-3. Remove two screws (see arrows in illustration 3.3) and disconnect the shoe guide from the steering knuckle.
Attention! The tightening torque of the shoe guide bolts is very high. It is recommended to mount the wheels and lower the vehicle before performing this operation. If the car remains mounted on jack stands, then its reliability should be ensured, and the wrench should be placed horizontally when unscrewing the bolts.
Installation
Attention! With the brake pads removed, do not press the brake pedal. In this case, when you press the pedal, the piston will be squeezed out of the brake cylinder.
5. Caliper FN-3. Lubricate the shoe guide bolts with a protective paste such as Loctite 243 after cleaning their threads first.
Attention! Bolt tightening torque is very high.
6. Caliper FN-3. Install the shoe guide on the steering knuckle and secure it with bolts with a force of 190 Nm.
If the brake hose was disconnected from the caliper, install new O-rings on the hollow bolt and screw it into the caliper. The bolt tightening torque is 35 Nm. Make sure the brake hose is not kinked.
7. Install the brake pads.
8. Remove air from the brake system, see the relevant chapter.
