Removing
1. Release the parking brake.
2. Remove the center console, see the relevant chapter.
3. Unscrew adjusting nut 3 on cable equalizer until cable 1 can be disconnected from cable equalizer 2 (see illustration). Disconnect the parking brake cable.
4. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the shoe drive lever on the rear wheel caliper.
5. Unscrew the bolt 2 and disconnect the parking brake cable holder 2 from the longitudinal beam 3 of the rear axle (see illustration).
6. Release the cable 1 from the attachment 4 and remove it from the hole 5 (see illustration).
7. Release the parking brake cable from the holders on the bottom.
Installation
8. Insert the parking brake cable into the guide tube 5 on the bottom to the parking brake lever and fix it in the holder 4 (see illustration 9.6).
9. Attach the cable to the shoe drive lever on the rear wheel caliper.
Attention! The parking brake cable in the area between the holder on the caliper and the holder on the cross beam must be stress-free.
10. Screw the cable holder to the cross beam after the cable has been fixed in it.
11. Attach the cable from the parking brake lever to the equalizer and tighten it with the adjusting nut.
12. Adjust the parking brake.
13. Reinstall the center console.
