Circuit breaker test
1. Turn on the ignition.
2. Disconnect the plug from the switch and bridge the plug contacts with a piece of wire. If the brake lights come on, the brake light switch is defective.
Removing
Attention! Installing the brake light switch is possible only once. After dismantling the switch, it should be replaced with a new one.
3. Remove the lower upholstery of the instrument panel in the footwell of the driver's side, releasing it from the clips, see the relevant chapter.
4. Disconnect the plug of the brake light switch by squeezing its leads.
5. Turn the switch 45°to the left and remove it from the holder.
Installation
6. Secure the brake pedal to the brake booster before installing the brake light switch. To do this, install the ball head of the pusher in front of the mounting hole and depress the brake pedal so that the head enters and locks into the hole (see illustration).
7. Pull out the pusher of the new brake light switch to the end (see arrow in illustration).
Attention! When installing the pedal switch on the bracket, do not press.
8. Install the brake light switch to the mounting location on the pedal bracket so that its projections 1 and 2 fit into the recesses (see illustration 14.7).
9. Secure the switch by turning it 45°to the right. When installing the switch, its pusher is automatically set to the desired position (see illustration).
10. Connect the switch plug and check the function of the switch.
11. Check up after installation of the switch position of a pedal of a brake.
