- loosen the rear wheel mounting bolts, place the rear of the car on a support and remove the wheels;
- set the parking brake lever to the lowest position;

- unscrew the adjusting nut 12 (Fig. 330) of the parking brake drive cable 10 until the hand drive levers on the rear brake calipers move to their stops;
- remove the loose parking brake drive cables from the equalizer 11 and from the mounting brackets;

- disconnect the parking brake cables from the mountings on the rear suspension (Fig. 331);
- disconnect the parking brake cables from the hand brake levers on the rear brake calipers. To do this, remove the locking clamp, pull the cable against the spring tension and unhook the end of the cable from the lever;
- remove the cable through the rear suspension.
Check it out condition of the parking brake system components. If a break or fraying of the cable wires, poor fastening of the cable tips or damage to the sheath are detected, replace the cable with a new one. The sector teeth and latches should not be damaged. And the lever should be securely fixed in the specified position and move up and down easily. Replace damaged and worn parts.
Installation cable traction of the parking brake drive lever, carry out in the reverse order of removal. After installation, adjust the parking brake and tighten the rear wheel mounting bolts to a torque of 140 N·m.
